The Kean University Behavioral Intervention Team (KUBIT) is a multidisciplinary team that meets regularly to serve five major functions for the University:
- Provide consultation, education, and support to faculty, staff, and administration in assisting students who display disconcerting or unusual behaviors;
- Gather Information to assess situations involving students who display disconcerting or disruptive behaviors;
- Recommend appropriate intervention strategies;
- Connect students with needed campus and community resources; and
- Monitor ongoing behavior of students who have displayed disruptive or disconcerting behavior.
The purpose of this report is for you to be able to alert us of students whose actions and behaviors are causing concern. Once a report has been received, the KUBIT team will meet to determine the best course of action. You and the witnesses you identify in this report may be contacted for further information about the incident. Additionally, please note that University disciplinary records are protected by a federal privacy law called the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
This form is NOT to be used in an emergency situation, however, we encourage completing this report so that we may provide additional resources to the individual if applicable. If the individual you are currently reporting is in a situation where immediate medical, police, psychological, or other emergency services are needed please call 911 to get the appropriate services.
