This form may be used to report information to the Abilene Christian University Title IX Office related to an alleged violation of the Abilene Christian University Title IX Policy by a member of the ACU community or a visitor to ACU.
If you are experiencing an emergency, or if there is an imminent risk to your well-being or that of another person, or if this incident involves a potential crime, contact the ACU Police emergency line: 325.674.2911. You will still need to complete this form for Title IX purposes.
The Abilene Christian University Title IX Policy prohibits sexual misconduct of various forms, including, but not limited to: sexual harassment; sexual violence; gender-based harassment; intimate partner violence; stalking; intimidation; and retaliation.
Q: Who can use this reporting form?
A: Anyone. Students can use this form to report instances of sexual misconduct. Employees can also use this form to report incidents they reasonably believe constitute sexual misconduct as committed by or against an enrolled student or employee.
Q: What happens when I submit this report?
A: The report is delivered to ACU's Title IX Office for review. The Title IX Co-Coordinator will review the report and determine appropriate actions under university policy including requests for confidentiality.
Q: Will the Title IX Office contact me?
A: Students wishing to remain anonymous are not required to provide their information. If you provide your name and your contact information, we will acknowledge and follow-up on your report, check-in with you to learn what resources and support you might want or need, and make sure that you have been provided important information about options and next steps. Employees should provide information so that the Title IX Office can document the report as required by law.
Q: What does NOT happen when I submit this report?
A: This form does not initiate a formal complaint and resolution process. This form provides you with an opportunity to provide the Title IX Office with information related to your allegation. The report will initiate a Title IX review. If you are a person who believes they have experienced sexual misconduct by a current ACU student, faculty, or staff member, you may, if you choose, file a formal complaint to initiate an investigation. Information about that process can be found in Abilene Christian University's Title IX Policy.
Q: What support and resources are available?
A: Support is available in many forms and is available regardless of whether you decide to submit a report.
Q: I am not sure if I should file this report. Can I talk to someone about my questions without providing details about the information I'm considering reporting?
A: Absolutely. Any member of our team listed below would be happy to answer any questions you have. You do not need to provide us with information about the report in order to get your questions answered.
