Title IX is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in federally funded educational programs and activities. Edmonds College recognizes its responsibility for investigating and resolving incidents; implementing corrective measures; monitoring the educational environment and workplace; and implementing regulations to stop, remediate, and prevent discrimination and harassment based on an individual's association or perceived association with protected classes as required by law.
In addition, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Reauthorization Act of 2013 contains several requirements the college must comply with. VAWA addresses incidences of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Institutions must respond to all reported incidences of sexual misconduct promptly and privately. Additional information regarding Title IX, VAWA, and your rights are available in the college's Title IX Policies and Procedures.
All sexual misconduct reports will be routed to the college's Title IX Coordinator. Please note that as mandated by Title IX as a federal law, the information included in this form is not confidential, but will be kept as private as possible in all efforts to protect individuals involved. This report does not constitute filing an official police report; although if requested, the Title IX Coordinator will assist in notifying local law enforcement. Once you have submitted your report, the Title IX Coordinator will contact you to gather more information and provide support and resources.
