Submit this form to send information about alleged sexual misconduct directly to a Rutgers University Title IX Office.
"Sexual misconduct" includes, but is not limited to: sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, gender-based harassment, relationship violence, stalking, and retaliation.
If you are in immediate danger, please call 911.
PLEASE NOTE: This form simply notifies the Title IX office. Additional steps are required to initiate a process.
Q: Who can use this form to report an incident or concern?
A: Anyone.
Q: What will happen when I submit this report?
A: The report will be sent directly to the Title IX Office on the appropriate Rutgers University campus, based on the information you provide below. A copy of the report will be sent to the Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD) for their records, and an officer may contact you about the report. While you are not required to speak with them, RUPD encourages and supports the community in reporting these incidents. RUPD recommends that incidents that occur on-campus be reported to RUPD at 732-932-7211 and off-campus incidents be reported to the appropriate police department where the incident occurred.
Q: Will the Title IX Office contact me?
A: If you provide your name and contact information, yes, the Title IX Office will contact you to acknowledge receipt of your report. The Title IX Office may also provide you and other relevant parties with resources, support, and potential next steps.
If you do not provide your name, phone number, or email address, the Title IX Office will be very limited in its ability to contact you and respond to the information provided in this report.
Q: What will NOT happen when I submit this report?
A: Submitting this form will not automatically initiate a University investigation of the allegation(s), barring extenuating circumstances (see Sec. IV. E. of the Student Sexual Misconduct Policy). Rather, this form serves as a method to notify the University of possible Title IX violation(s) and enables the Title IX Office to provide information about resources, support, and potential next steps. The Title IX Office will always notify all parties prior to the start of a University investigation.
Q: What if I am unsure about reporting this incident?
A: If you have any questions or concerns about the reporting process, please contact the Title IX Office during regular business hours. A list of the Title IX Offices on each Rutgers campus can be found here. If you prefer to speak with a confidential advocate, please contact the Office for Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance (VPVA) using the information below. VPVA advocates are on call to answer any questions 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
